It's a repost, but I'm still going to upvote it because this happens every damn time I use self checkout.
Isn't it more annoying when it doesn't read what is in the bagging area, cuz the item is not heavy enough?
Reason I don't do self check out...
Throw it down
The next time this happens to you take the stack of plastic bags off the bagging area and throw them in the air as hard as you can.
Just about to say this and sometimes if you just open a plastic bag and put it inside make sure the bag isn't hanging onto the rest of them
It's an 8 year old account....
A couple years ago I was informed by an assistant that the entire thing is basically a scale, got put purse on shelf and it was weighing it
Item too heavy, remove from bagging area
THEY ARE BOTH EQUALLY ANNOYING
First thing I do when I walk up to a YouScan is mute that fucker.
“Is this a Debit card? Yes or cancel?” What if I want to use it like a credit card? Press No? “Canceling”. WTF?!
Unexpected bagging area in the bagging area
What's this from?
Also, why is the volume always so high? I have to mute it everytime just like commercials!!
Or the item is too heavy and it has a hissy fit lol
My fav is when I need to double bad something *unexpected item in bagging area* NO IT WAS JUST THERE!!
Every worse when it tells you to put your item in the bag area, the complains when you do.
But the whole bag/holder assembly is on the scale...
I might have maybe drank half the juice already but he worker doesn't need to know that
Or your just trying to open the plastic bag and it tells you "remove item from the bagging area".
The best one yet.
If it works like the home depot I worked at this is because the employee hit the button to stop the warning then the weight of it being....
...there causes a warning because it is no longer expecting an item. We hit that button constantly just to ignore it. It bother us more...
...then it bothers you when we are forced to listen to 4+ machines do it for an 8 hour shift.
Funny hows its the same for all countries where they place them
I’m European, what’s going on?
This. Trying to hang the bag from the hooks to open it sets it off.
I love this meme format. I wish there were more
I press the bottom plate when bagging light shit, it's usually enough to keep the thing happy.
When the supermarkets in your country all employ actual people (who are allowed to sit) and you cannot empathize with this in any way.
Actually laughed on this one
I had a greeting card that did this to me the other day. Really? A greeting card?
"Unexpected item in bagging area, please remove item before continuing" *removes item* "Item removed from bagging area" - work at supermarkt
"Do you not want to bag this item?"
Stop using self checkout. You are not an employee, quit doing their work for free!
Self-check grocery checkouts have scales to ensure you scan everything and that what you scan has the same weight as what you put in the bag
Nothing more enjoyable than an awkward moment with someone you'll never meet again!
I'm not waiting for the weekly grocery shopper to checkout when I have 3 things. Fuck that.
nvr have this problem, everyone else i know does tho
If only it wasn't even remotely necessary to have that fucking sensor. IF ONLY.
is that to prevent theft or what?
Every self-checkout station around here (Jewel, Costco, etc.) has now been removed. I think they just turned out to be too much trouble.
Hahahahaha cough cough cough hack hahahahahahahaha AA!!!
Best one I've seen yet haha
*removed from the bagging area* “Unexpected item in bagging area, please wait for assistance”
I do this! And it works.
God, i hate this meme
Wait... you can mute them?! The ones are Kroger are awful... I need to try this!!
Trailer Park Boys indeed
LPT: (I just figured this out at Giant grocery stores) THROW YOUR KEYS DOWN ON THE PLATFORM WHEN IT ISN'T HEAVY ENOUGH. serious. works.
cause of old people .
Yessss so damn funny
Found out if you scan condoms but don’t put them in the bagging area it doesn’t do this spazzy stuff
I like Dillon's self checkout now that they updated the software. Even when it doesn't notice the item you can keep scanning.
I've learned to put the volume noise on silent before scanning. Helps 1,000% with anxiety and stress.
Nothing more annoying than people that do the opposite: weekly shops at the self service whilst I'm waiting to get my creme egg.
I thought they originated in Europe, we have loads of them in the UK.
And you would think that would matter...
Fun fact: most self-checkout machines have a volume button on the screen where you can turn off the voice. Really helps me out
I like the sponge Bob one best
That framing tho.....
Those self baggage areas are great for stealing shit lol. Just wait for the machine to fuck up, keep packing until someone comes to help.
Lose these buzzkills
I'm not the only one who read it in this "Tesco" lady voice.
I frequent self checkout. Can confirm.
That’s my favorite version!
Found out its almost impossible to scan 10 Kool aid packs. No item detected, wait, reset, scan the next, no item detected....
I have never had a problem with this
Happens all the time when I buy feathers
Local stores didn't have the scale in the bagging area. Now one has it. And I hate it. It doesn't work half the time.
The reason I'd go to a self checkout cashier is for convenience, which those don't have at all.
Hands down best use of this meme.
When Walmart started charging 5c a bag : “How many store provided bags did you use today?” Looks around shiftily before pressing “0”
If youre holding a dog and step on a scale, does the dog's weight not add to the total unless you dangle it by a rope?
I swear every time I buy a bag of lays chips that happens.
Go to Kroger at 6am -- everyone is too asleep yet to GAF...
Yessirree -- no skycams looking over yer shoulder, nope!
1. Item is hanging off the side, creating weight imbalance. 2. Company added more/put less in your product, thus messing with expectedweight
3. You're leaning on it 4. Your kids leaning on it 5. Your purse is on it 6. You're bagging faster than you scan
I meant that the self checkout machine will make a fuss either way. Don't dangle dogs dude.
