Hey, congrats. Always nice to see new startups doing well.
I was interested in an online vintage store until the owner had a meltdown and flaked on all her sales.
That's great. Its an addictive high just be careful of the lows
Congratulations OP, hope your business thrives!
7 sales in weeks is good?
Great if you’re selling vintage cars. Not so great if you’re selling vintage coasters. You have my upvote.
Can people pay in groats or guineas?
And you’re not gonna give us a link to your shop?
That’s awesome! I wish u continued luck. Glad ur pumped!!!!
You gotta start somewhere right
The question is, why did those 7 people buy your stuff?
So... uh... you got some of that sauce lying around anywhere?
Exciting for someone who's starting out and had no idea whether they'd even sell anything
What vintage items you are selling?
Vintage what? I need more information @OP
I'd totally love to see the vintage products, but I have an issue with it being called a startup. If it cant scale exponentially, it isnt 1/
A startup. Other every mom & restaurant would be a startup and that isn't now we use that word. I love for individual owners to get the 2/
Put a link to your website in the post @OP . Imgur is a great platform!
I imagine that if it was coasters it wouldnt be singular coasters but multiple which could stil lbe good?
Depends what's your selling. 7 vintage collector motorcycle could turn a week in an awesome week, 7 vintage pairs of socks... not so much.
Nice to hear, and glad to see you happy about it, but... link for the curious?
What’s the name of site?
Link, my dude!
I own several sets of vintage coasters. From back when stuff wasn't made to be used once then thrown away.
Oh, maybe you meant that 7 cars would bring in more money than 7 coasters?
vintage propane and vintage propane accessories
+1 for the Swanson...now, you got a link for us? I'd love to check it out, and congratulations! :)
Yeh, that's a good guess mate
please don't encourage advertisements
It's great for a start.
Can you send me the link
Well, we just want to see his products
send him a pm
Hey some of us like to buy shit. Sparkly magpie.
Your family seems nice :)
Why not, better OP’s than the random crap ad imgur put right beneath your comment.
you've probably never heard of them.
i've bought two things based off of posts i've seen here in the past. both things were shit lol.
Depends on the margins I suppose.
Vintage? You mean antiques?
What they all said! But really, mostly vintage Pyrex/glass. Find them trashed lots of times and clean them up to look new.
Mostly these, yes.
Some nice things there:)
Mostly Vintage Pyrex/glass. Find it in shit condition and clean it up
Didn’t want to be solicitous when I posted - just needed to get my excitement out.. But link is in the comments for those interested now!
Could you possibly do a step by step post on how you restore them! I would find it very interesting to see how you work!
Thanks! Didn’t expect it, but the Pyrex bug bit me about 2 months ago.. and now here we are. Living in a house with glass bowls EVERYWHERE!
Antiques are generally 80-100+ years old. I’ve got mostly Pyrex from the mid 40s-early 80s. Hopefully it makes it that long!
Guineas now, for sure.
Sure! I’ll post some before and afters later on
Awesome! Looking forward to it! Could you tag me please when you make the post?
Thrift Margains / Cost is often very low but it’s the time and effort spent searching/driving around, on top of cleaning it up
I’d like to hope that mine aren’t shit! Mostly vintage Pyrex + glass
I did quite a bit of research in to what had recently sold, with a range for condition and then priced my items in the lower half - 1/
In my case with vintage Pyrex/glass it appears most people don’t polish/restore them as I have been. Hard work + elbow grease payoff so far
Oh cool. Keep it up
7 sales out of an inventory of 30-35 items. I’m pleased so far. Have about 60+ more to list in my “free time” as this is not my main job
I bought a 1930s fan yesterday for 15 bucks. Just sold for 225. =D
What are vintages?
He's looking to take over your market niche.
Whoop whoop? That's the sound of the police.
Can I get a link?
Not one of my core interests, but I'm of an age where quality kitchen stuff has a certain sexyness.
Please post a link, this would make an excellent gift for my mom.
I definitely will! And I’ll agree and bet yes, your mom would love it!
I want them all!
Username Checks out
Also, watch out, because feelings like that are how it starts....
Not at all. Having your own website is a great achievement! Advertise it wherever you can!
I wish it were my own! (Through Etsy at the moment) But in time, that’s a great goal. I would love to hunt vintage stuffs full time.
Thanks! I have hipster friends who love this kinda stuff, will send it on.
I appreciate you fellow Imgurian!
Thank you! They can be!
Link? I wanna see.
I LOVE PYREX!
We can get through this together!
OMG, you have won over my mom's and my own heart. These are absolutely amazing.
That makes me so happy you have no idea! So glad I’m not alone!
I favorited your store. We are in the process of moving, so nothing new until after that. I collect the turquoise butterprint
I actually collect vintage Pyrex, and have a good bit of my grandmothers and great-grandmother's pieces. Seeing this just makes me happy.
Same! I got all my grandmothers pieces when she passed and recently found a Zodiac Pyrex that pop my Pringles can... can’t stop, won’t stop
Thank you! I love it too! Butterprint is the print I inherited from my grandma and essentially started it all
And good luck with your move!
I remember my mom having it - of course she threw it all away in the 90s :(
That breaks my vintage glass heart
Good stuff, hopefully leads to more sales?
Hopefully! Nice side hustle for now
