I almost didn't believe you so I looked it up. It true! variety.com/2018/politics/news/net-neutrality-senate-vote-1202812311/
Well time to close IMGUR so I don’t have to watch this same fucking post 400 times.
F you Ajit Pai, corporate whore.
So you didn’t believe him?
The Senate passing this bill doesn’t mean anything. It will also have to be passed by the House, where Republicans have a more (1/2)
Significant majority, and then be signed into law by the President. So yeah, at least it's a start.
President will wipe his ass with it just on the premise Democrats like it.
Especially when the house will just table it forever, or vote it into the ground. Need to vote dems in come november to actually get it.
Still has to pass house and not get vetoed.
He’ll sign it, then reneg on it, like with the Iran disarmament deal.
Can you really blame him?
3 GOP Senators voted to save the rules. It's harder to switch 3 Senate seats than 25 house seats
Yes, but the GOP has more purple seats in the House than the Senate. There are more than 25 purple Republicans in the House.
Inb4 Trump vetos it. If it makes it thru the house somehow.
Im half hoping it does so everyone of import with know for a fact who the enemy of the people is.
Yeah, I hope something comes from this, but I'm not holding my breath. Best thing is reps will have to be on recordof whose side they are on
I don't even live in the US and I want something unpleasant to well and truly fuck him back to the Republican cesspit he crawled out of.
Amazing amount of people that don't know how the us system works. This is just the first required step
Has to pass the House (tougher) and Trump has to sign. Trump won't sign. It has Obama's name attached to it. He wants to erase Obama's name.
First steps are still worth celebrating.
Or he'll sign it and Democrats will decry what a horrible thing it is and he's the worst president ever.
I'm ok with that. Considering the money we gave them has been traced to terrorist organizations, it's probably best we don't help them.
They're gonna do that anyway, so he might as well do something useful.
Hi fives all around
Hold tf up. For some (possibly uneducated) reason, I was under the impression that a majority of Republican 'law/bill/statute' people on th
the payroll support the net neutrality.
It depends on if they've received their check yet. They haven't been told how to vote yet.
Yeah, the Senate are a bunch of 3rd graders, but the House is like Special Ed Kindergarten.
I honestly thought it was a joke too, but now I'm happy.
I can’t believe only 4 senate republicans voted in favor.
We didn't "give" them money. We repaid money we owed them. I don't "give" citibank my student loan payment. I pay them.
Three, according to the article.
You know the Iran deal was a terrible deal the getting out of was the best thing to happen right? Also that was Obama that did that
You overestimate the American people
Still has to pass through house, and the crayon eater in the white house. Cool to see that the people actually can still have a voice though
Why is that so easy to do?
HAH, American money gets more than « traced to the terrorists », it gives them weapons and trains them !
Im not against bet neutrality at all but I never did notice anything different after the rules went in place a mere 3 years ago.
Ashit Pie can eat my shitpie.
And to also avoid the unpopular opinion puffins stating how they're annoyed about the posts.
While I normally do not feel violent tendencies towards people, especially that I haven’t met, Ajit oughta meet Cthulhu.
It’s a step in the right direction.
I dont know. The people said keep NN. The Senate said keep NN. If its blithely ignored and repealed wont it look starkly like a fuck you?
mmmm that's a matter of opinion I think
Not sure what law/bill/statute people are but generally no, they do not support
I might be wrong but I think a lot of them support repealing net neutrality in favor of letting “market forces” dictate internet access
Why people down voting truth? It's a good sign, but yea it isn't going to pass the house and Trump
Probably because they dont like being told their excitement is pointless. November is when things can get changed, focus there.
Blithe fuck you is only apparent to people who believe in the objective state of things
I did it for a long time. I don’t think there is a single piece of policy that can rescue us from our ignorance
Wow, I guess more nothing will change again
Damn well put!
Dude that’s the Productive Mr Duck. He gets shit done.
O rly? How come?
Wow nice... well hope it goes through.
Ooooh. Obama was SO BAD. (Or so good, honestly, same). Obama was just another puppet of that same invisible hand.
« Getting out of a deal » = signing an Agreement, then not honouring that contract : « I got out of paying my rent, dude. »
Yes. Finally something happening because the people actually want it to happen. Not because somebody got paid to make it happen.
Internet companies hate him
Well we didn't "win" per se but it will hopefully foster interest & conversation. That shit ain't passing the house or Trump's desk though.
So what imgur said it's good so you all agree. Pretend your internet traffic isn't already monetized. Sheep.
Careful there, the Imgurian horde will crucify you. :D
Except, it's not over. The house is all corrupt, bought and paid for, so don't count your chickens yet.
It means something. Just because outta but the final step doesn't mean that it's meaningless
I agree with this but probably not for the reasons you meant it.
I'm just gonna close Imgur and listen to the song on repeat
Iranian assets were frozen until the nuclear deal, it was their money.
putting up a good fight
The homebred rich kid who was always home schooled because no one else could teach their child the right way.
Lol, GOP house? They need 53 flips lol. But the good news, they can try until Jan 2019. So remember to vote in midterm to kick out GOP.
They have Jan 1 2019 to try and pass it. Remember to vote this Midterm 2018 and kick GOP out.
That's because it hadn't been targeted at the customers yet, only other Internet-reliant businesses, like Netflix.
Err..... That shit still has to go through house, then trump lol he'd definitely veto that
It also lets iran start making weapons grade uranium starting right now
But it is a good thing. Now we'll have a list of people from both houses who don't support net neutrality, not just one.
Look up which way your senator voted and shoot them an email thanking or chastising them.
Bruh he literally just said the fight continues, on to the House
It will be vetoed by the potus even if it passes the House. Net neutrality is long dead.
The house is full of Trumpster Toadies and Fools. AKA The Freedom Caucus.
Yay! What was the vote in the house and when will Trump sign it? Oh, wait, you mean neither of that happened? Well, not so much, then.
Excuse you sir, trump was never in the Marine Corps.
But Fox News and trump told me Obama gave it to them for the hostages!
I just read his response to the vote, it did not help my level of rage.
It is a scary world, indeed.
It more translates to "We're not fucked just yet! They only got our pants off!"
Sorry. But doubt.
Ryan won't even bring it to a vote without majority GOP support.
Everyone in Congress will have their name attached to one side of this issue. They can't just dodge questions from constituents anymore.
You realize it will probably never even see the light of day with the house right? Even if it did, it would then go before the President.
Still has to pass the house, does it not?
It still has to go to house and then trump has to approve
Exciting but it still has to go to the house and then be approved by trump
Negative, Ghost Rider.
Eeeh, he might pass it out of spite if the turtle pisses him off again.
Time to tell Netflix to double down on its lobbying efforts! (Not that the crowd action is bad, but matching money for money should help.)
It’s bad that after all this fighting it goes back to one person to determine its destiny.
"nothing we can do about it" - Eat shit to every defeatist prick who said that, seriously eat a bag of meaty nuts. we won! x
Love how you're downvoted. Imgur will upvote posts complaining about GOP policies (or celebrating their potential reversal) all day but
They know what voters will do to those who oppose it...
God help you if you suggest that maybe both parties aren't the same and one is actually worse.
First read through I must have purposely read 'homebred' as 'inbred' - worked much better.
As a Republican, fuck most of the Republican senators' positions on this particular issue.
That's right! That's why the internet has been not because I live with three guys stressed out by finals, huh.
Its a joke
The post literally says "the fight continues."
Ryan is on his way out, he's a wildcard
It's an election year. Democrats realize how important the issue is, and it will help get voters on their side even if it doesn't pass.
Three and I'm more surprised the number is that high, rather than that low.
Coincidentally I believe that's the number of Republicans who need to vote for it to pass in the House (seems highly unlikely though).
We just needed to get all the members to actually vote. So we can run ads in targeted areas to get them out of office
I love how you're downvoted for being genuinely confused about something. Just "fuck this dude for not knowing"
I'll take forcing Trump or the GOP to make an unpopular decision in an election year as a consolation prize.
It's just going to die in the House...
They know it won't pass. Democrats want to get it on record that Republicans killed it. They'll use it a a Campaign point in the future.
It never ends. Every year we hear about this. It's a constant fight.
No, the attack on net neutrality has come *entirely* from Republicans. Even the FCC vote months ago that "ended" NN was split on party lines
But the good news is that even if this gets defeated or veto'd, it will become a major issue in the upcoming midterms, where 1/2
with the 3 Republicans voting to end, and the 2 democrats voting to keep. This is absolutely a partisan issue.
standard trends indicate that many seats in the house will change to the other party. That may be where things turn.
Tell me more, Mr. Wizard
"Won"? The Senate isn't the only--or even the easiest to pass, in this case--deliberative body. And then there's Trump.
Preventing a nuclear arms race in the Middle East is bad, more at 11.
House won't pass this.
This caught me too, his bone spurs kept him away from the fresh crayolas
Well I’m a bit surprised
And they'll keep trying with stupid names. The "Enforcement of Puppy Blenderization Illegality" bill, which not only just reaffirms animal
God damn draft dodger.
cruelty laws already on the books, but also strips away most Internet consumer protections. "How could you *possibly* vote
against that?!? Why do you want to blenderize puppies???" New names for the bills, more rights for excessively wealthy interests, fewer for
Let's not forget that this is solidly fucking Republicans trying to screw us the next time someone says "both parties are the same."
You don't seem to understand the reckoning for the House that's going to happen in November.
everyone else, and they still put "freedom" somewhere in the bill's name.
I would think that this would at the very least delay the implementation of the new rules that were scheduled to kick in 6/11/18, right?
How do I upvote a post more than once
he is enough of a wildcard narcissist that he'll sign it to upsell his image.
You won nothing, the house has to vote then it has to be signed or rejected by the President, someone needs to teach you how a bill works.
the House votes against neutrality will be a voter guide
If we can stall until November, we can flip the House, but it comes down to whether or not the President vetoes it. He doesn't (1/2)
actually have to SIGN the thing for it to become law, after all. (2/2)
That's why I said 25 seats. There are well more than 50 purple GOP controlled districts in the US
Ah, missed it. I posted this in usersub a little while ago. I'm very excited this is headed in the right direction!
I still don’t understand the argument against Net Neutrality. It just seems like a ‘bad guy’ mentality, there has to be a rational argument?
Obviously I need to work on my reading comprehension. Or maybe I should skip that and run for Congress.
Jeff "Fucknuts" Flake voted against it, probably because the telcos gave him a cash enema beforehand. Politicians in Arizona are useless!
It feels weird when a part of our government actually works for us.
The fight is still on going! Call your Reps! It’s not over yet!
The entire gop is the enemy of the people.
Ive heard it would be better with out net neutral so that businesses can compete for your money making better over all internet? 1\2
And so they should.
Suck it, evil!
Signed by trump? That’s like getting a vegan to sign off on a bovine kill order.
Every Dem, every Independent, and 3 Republicans voted to restore net neutrality, rest of the Republicans voted for the corporate slum lords
The bigger challenge is the House which has a bigger majority of jackass reps who’ve been bought by ISPs. Then there’s of course Trump...
2/2 is this true or not. genuinely asking
It probably won’t even get a vote in the house.
How incredibly simpleminded you are
uck -you forget that
Fuck ashit pie
sorry not american, why does it have obamas name on it and why would that matter?
you guys all focus on eejit pee, when really it's the dudes that bankrolled him that you need to worry about. he's just the stick that
this has to be fake. good things don't happen anymore.
someone picked up and poked us with. without the person putting in the effort, the stick would be on the ground. ghost penis
Not yet we haven't. If three different people just have to say no to stop you, and the first one says yes it doesn't mean you've won
Won't help. Bigger ticket items against them, like tax cuts and job creation.
I have my doubts it'll pass the House as well, BUT, I think Republicans also know that they aren't very popular right now. I could see...
It got past the Senate. Still must pass the House. Ffs DON'T announce "we won" bc then people get complacent when they're needed most
/2 them passing it as a "we'll do this so we gain a little popularity and keep our jobs a little longer" mentality.
That is not a win. Read the whole story
Because Trump (republican) hates Obama (democrat) trump could (and probably doesn’t) know anything and not support based on that
Umm... Hate to be Debbie downer but no. This was mostly a symbolic vote to get Dem support in Nov. No way it passes the house
Man that's just so very wrong. A spoiled bunch doesn't make a whole group bad in this case, just the ones that are.
In a different world, where ISPs have to compete, the fantasy Repubs are peddling, market forces will keep things cheap. 1/2
Still if you know where that money is going to then it's more of an ethical stance to not pay them despite owing them money
Just tell him his twitter is in danger
thank you DEMOCRATS. fuck you REPUBLICANS.
The reality is that there is no competition because ISPs operate like cartels. No competition. Their pitch assumes you are stupid. 2/2
actually its the teaparty, the gop are, well were not as bad until they came along. Now some of them are extremely far right...so yeah
You also weren't attempting to arm yourself with nuclear weapons to defend yourself against your lender
The vast majority of the GOP policies rely on misinformation and are usually only beneficial to big companies.
Simply a play on words that correlates with the type of person he is.
i hate current politcs
Also as far as I know, Citibank isn't a well known terrorism funder or an Islamic republic, but maybe I'm missing something here
I'm in this weird place where Susan Collins is kind of my hero this year, and I don't know how to deal with that.
but Obama can never be reelected again so why would it matter for Trump?
It has a loooong way to go. But still, a victory!!!
Surprise! It's Susan Collins, John Kennedy, and Lisa Murkowski, AKA The Only Sane Republicans Left in the Senate
Perhaps in competitive areas, yes. But plenty of places have only one service provider, and people there'd be screwed.
Dude this has been demonstrated multiple times and people (his supporters) don't care.
Conservative here.... Why the fuck are our representatives not reflecting the wishes of their constituents?
Like, virtually everyone here on the right wants net neutrality restored. It's like, the ONLY THING Obama did that we actually LIKED.
he has a big ego i guess
You’re trying to apply logic to a man who all but openly scorns logic. He thinks “Obama was involved with X? FUCK X FOREVER!”
Hot damn the senate did something for the betterment of the country for once.
Isn't this the problem though? Politicians changing with the wind to stay in office? This is why no one trusts them
GOP is the Republican Party. The debate has been entirely on party lines until literally yesterday.
So we just burn the house down, and build a new one that won't veto it, right?
. Cause that’s how I favourite comments
Huh. Interesting. In Australia the names are the other way around.
You’re facts are correct but the sentiment means it’s not over. And that’s something.
This may be like trying to force feed broccoli to a cat, but you're trying to give control of the net to the people who gave you SOPA / PIPA
Hell will freeze over before Trump approves to bring back anything with Obama's signature on it
I'm happy but there's no way Trump is going to sign that. And honestly I'd trade temporary net neutrality rules for flipping congress to D.
make a note of all those who voted for it and against it for the elections coming up.
And the bi-partisan Russian sanctions
True. But this is still a massive victory. But even if it passes, we might have to deal with it next year. The war is far from over.
Variety is your go to news source?
I see you like shrimp
To cement his own legacy by shitting on someone else's. Politicians are massive cunts like that.
Because Trump hates Democrats and what they stand for. He would never put his name on something a democrat created
We weren't helping them, we lifted some sanctions in exchange for them not furthering their nuclear program, which they weren't. And now 1/?
Still sends a very clear message about what the people want. Politicians want to get elected and will remember
It's literally been nearly entirely Democrats pushing this. There three lonesome GOP senators that voted with the Dems today
Many Democrats have been in favor of Net Neutrality for several years (since it first became an issue, really). But you do have a point.
We didn't fucking "win". It's far from over and if it's not DOA at the House it's still got to not be vetoed by our idiot president.
No one took one for the team. If i become homeless again ill take him out for everyone
Don't forget those who fought against net neutrality. And don't forgive them. Vote those sons-of-bitches out.
Iran has said they'll still follow the agreement with the European Nations who signed, so still no nuclear development, and now Trump is 2/?
I mean public opinion on wheeler did a 180 when he voted it in so I honestly dunno how the public will react if he votes it in.
Pssst wont pass the house, and even if it does cheeto in chief will veto it
threatening to sanction European companies and nations if they don't pull out of the deal too 3/3
I never know what he's doing back there.....FUCK!!
That's oversimplifying things. The dominant ideology might be that. It's hard to be an individual when everything is along party lines.
He just nominated the turtle's brother-in-law to be head of a pension department. Any way you look at it, it's shady.
It's been along party lines so far, with democrats for and republicans against. That changed today, hence the development.
Ehh Dems have been for net neutrality for quite a while and Repubs against with the exception of Bush Jr. funnily enough
Net Neutrality was passed under Obama's administration. Republicans (especially Trump) have been doing everything they can to undo anything
Vote in November
I hope Trump signs it just so Democrats who only passed it so they could dance around going "we tried vote for us." just lose there minds.
No need to be a dick. Don't exacerbate the tensions with needless insults if you want communication.
and everything that might actually benefit people (instead of corporations) that was passed under Obama.
anyone check to see if they blew any brown people up during this distraction?
My personal motto: don't just upvote .. VOTE!
You must be fun at parties with such a cheerful attitude.
How short is your memory?
Between this, a failed NK summit, and Trump's threat to cause another govt shutdown in Sept if he doesn't get a wall... all before midterms
Will NEVER pass the House. Calm down Ed.
He literally use to identify as a democrat. I guess times have changed though.
Ooh ooh! I think I know which side will vote it down!
The house is usually more beholden to the people, but also there are a lot of ultra pro business crazies in the house.
The FCC chair is a front man for the GOP, which is a front for the people wanting control over your life. The GOP is the problem, not Pai.
Bratwurst? If I remember correctly, he's the one that said Congress should be the power to decide.
It wont pass the House. If it did it would get Vetoes. Also, Screw Net Neutrality. The reality is different than thetalking points
OK, sure. But, for that to happen you've got to vote against the GOP. The Republicans are happy with the status quo.
Yeah man, just because 99% of them voted to hobble humanity's greatest invention in return for a check, no reason to sling shit like that!
It's just hate. Trump's presidency, to a large degree, is just a long campaign to undo anything Obama did out of spite.
It won't ever come to a vote in the house. They don't want to be on record against it, so they'll just stick it in a drawer.
You act like the Democratic Party as a whole actually gives a shit about the American people. Both parties are pretty much corporate whores.
Can we make it permanent so that way big corporations can't fuck with it anymore?
I dunno about that. It's an easier to understand issue than taxes and jobs. Politics is weird. Net Neutrality: A bigger deal than it looks?
What timeline is this?!?!
oh I know, but there are a whole lot of corporate democrats like Hillary that are happy with status quo too. Oligarchy is on its way IMO
Having dealt with them, they're not that far off. but either way, what exactly does that matter?
Literally just petty spite.
I'm sorry to say, but the reps confident enough to vote against it will not lose their positions.
Remember to call your representative and make sure they know you won't vote for them if they don't vote for this.
Really? I think it's more surprising any went for it at all.
Great. Now we can stop this shit until they come up with same idea with different name in few years/months.
No they won’t unfortunately. The house isn’t going to even vote on it for this reason.
Republican politicians only care about money, and there is no money in net neutrality.
You got called out and are falling to save face.
It means a lot.
Just tell him they scratched off Obama's signature and it'll be his own signature on it now.
Normally I'd say to think rationally before judging but god damn there really is a dominant population of cuntmaggots in the current GOP.
The class pet that nobody wants to take care of over spring break?
Money money money money money money money *Pink Floyd's Money starts playing*
Are you referring to the tax cuts that the repubs just passed that only helped the rich and is very unpopular with the country?
We already do.
That’s the big problem. A two party system is not only divisive, but restrictive.
True, but just because both parties are shit, does not falsify the fact that one is demonstrably WORSE shit.
Sad truth. We need to switch over to a system where you can pick several candidates, and the votes roll over to your choice who does best.
Red Team is obligated to destroy everything that Blue Team has done, and vice versa, because Other Team is THE DEVIL.
Dude, it's the President that has the veto. It means if a bill passed by both houses comes across his desk, he can refuse to sign.
The Iran Deal prevented Iran from working towards nuclear weapons for a decade. With no deal, they can work towards one now. How was it bad?
Pretty sure apathy is a problem with most democracies.
The real point is getting it to a vote in the House. House elections in November, and 80% of people want this. Good fuel.
I am not a violent man, but I would beat the shit outa Ajit Pai if I saw him.
You're a Conservative, not a Republican. Republicans stand for telling the Rule of Law to piss off, and I assume you do not.
You are never going to convince the die hards. The aim is to win the independents. NN is a big issue currently.
I feel like ANY party system is a bad idea. Because it should be the issues they go for not the party they represent. (1)
Finally a win for the little guys!
Remind me how many Dems voted against Net neutrality? But both parties are the same, right?
There's power in numbers, though. The american political system is the way it is because that's the strongest approach for them.
he will wipe his ass with it cause he will lose money with it.
No the party system as a whole is the enemy of the people
But a Binary Red and Blue way of thinking is a woefully inadequate way to represent all of the Issues a country this big faces.
If you say you are a Republican, then you say what they stand for is what you stand for. What HAVE Republicans stood for lately?
They don't really think like that. They're people, like you or me. They must present a unified front, though, which edges out individuality
Even with a wave election, the new Congress won't be seated until after that date.
"We have a problem!" "Okay! Red or Blue?" ".. But, The issue is complicated and requires more.." "NO. Red or blue?"
I absolutely agree that it doesn't work
The democrats want to pass it in the first place, they just know that the republicans won't go along. If it somehow passes anyway, that's >
like this happening, meaning they can limit what you see and what you know.
But the House is all up for elections this year. If they refuse to bring it to the floor, that becomes ammo. Damned if you do or don't.
> still a good thing for them, and the nation as a whole.
The problem is that is a lie. Net neutrality does not "give control of the net" to anyone.
Yeah, I'd still rather not. GOP has been better to me so far than the DNC.
The deal did no such thing, they’ve been working on nukes the whole time
Why hasn't ajit pai been burned at the stake yet?
A product of the two-party system, unfortunately. They're one of only two major options, which gives them a lot of wiggle room to go >
As a conservative I agree with this assessment.
Oh, excuse me. The democrats are corporate whores squirreling away talking points for the election. The republicans will do the same with
They are only doing it because they will benefit somehow. Probably financially.
"I got mine": the rallying cry of the GOP supporter
No, they'll still go in effect. It'll still be possible to reinstate it later, but the process is more difficult, having to go through 1/2
some other issue when they’re the minority. If you think the majority of the democratic senators who voted for that bill give a shit
2/2 committees and what not.
about net neutrality as more than a talking point, you’re delusional.
> against their constituents and still get votes. Gains them support with the wealthy telecomms industry, and doesn't hurt them politically.
This is kinda accurate, since Ron Swanson would be against net neutrality.
Perhaps he got bigger tax cuts from that side before
Trump doesn’t give a tinker’s damn about being unpopular with the little people.
yeah fair enough, but you get the moral of what i meant, even if we fail we nearly succeeded, it's not "outright impossible" we have weight
I’m on the fence as to whether I prefer people who will look me in the face while they fuck me or people who wait til I leave the room and
Businesses still compete for your money.
Stop being a tool of tech giants like Google and Netflix who stand to receive millions in subsidies if it's restored. Trump will veto, nerd.
Oh right because I forgot in a government made for the people I should be voting for those that dont care about me who is part of the people
idk now they have an idiot for president they seem to be paying attention to how much they are getting f**ked
Yeah, because they read your emails. LOL!
I'm sorry I like my politicians treating me how democrats like treating illegal aliens.
do it “for my own good”. I don’t think there’s as much of a real constructive difference as people make out.
Why do we want the FCC to regulate internet traffic again?
How does net neutrality give control of the internet to the department of Justice?
"net neutrality is bad because [something that is not net neutrality] was bad." That's not how logic works.
Cool! Net Neutrality is about as honest as the Patriot act!
Conservatives hate NN because they've an irrational ideological belief that any regulation of commerce (except union-busting) is wrong.
Nah, I dont think he hates dems. I think he's just using them as the 'enemy' b.c. thats what his supporters respond to. Pretty sure he has 1
The problem is people think the only thing net neutrality does is keep them streaming 4kUltra for 9.95 a month.
only ever cared about himself - everyone and everything else are inconsequential. 2/2
The fact that all politicians are basically forced to pick red or blue to be relevant does not mean what you said is true.
Not sure whether to downvote because you didn’t pay attention until now, or upvote because it seems like you realize the problem now.
That might work
Not a chance in the house and would be vetoed.
I don't want to be negative but you know they are just going to keep doing this until it finally goes through
More like Senator Malarky. Am I right
on behalf of all prostitutes, you should apologize for that comparison
So much for the FINAL, final vote on it...
To anyone else reading this I have a rant if you’re interested,
Becuz American the greatest country on earth, and the surroudning planets YAAHHHHHH!!!
I’ll tell you now, this is a very short term problem. Very soon there will be global Internet available on your phone. Social revolution.
I’m sure that you have noticed that companies that have poor moral compasses have not been feeling well lately..
This reflects a social change, the voices of people are now being heard because of the integration of social media.
Do you honestly think we'd be UPSET if he signed it? Hell, I'd sing Trump's praise, and I hate the man.
Social media allow the revolutions we saw after the millennium. Peaceful revolution’s are coming through social order.
When the technology drops, probably in the next five years, jump in. Jump in deep. Cut the cord and tell your friends. “Find me, offline”
So we haven’t won, and likely won’t this administrations. But we’ll at least have the assholes on record.
Pro NN = Corporate whores for Facebook, Google, Amazon, Netflix, Reddit, etc. Anti NN = Corporate whores for Comcast, ATT, Verizon, etc.
They are currently spotbeaming and performing tests on the west coast. There’s very big changes coming to data connectivity
they're voting to reflect the values of the 'constituents' that fund their campaigns. the only reason democrats passed this bill is that >>
“We won”, everyone congratulates themselves, they stop posting, stop fighting, slowly forget. Gets quietly vetoed in the house.
they know it'll never pass the house or get signed, so it's passage won't hurt their own corporate constituents either. just for show
Both parties are complete and total whores don’t be fooled.
I honestly didn’t feel any changes when net neutrality disappeared
Would you rather monopoly like ISPs regulating themselves?
It would be a competition if we rewind like 10 years back before the big ISPs bullied all the smaller ISPs to sell out & (1)
Good luck america. Please don't screw this up.
it'll never pass the house or get signed. it's just meaningless good pr for the opposition party
I expected him to be dead a month or less after the fcc vote
Before these big ISPs took taxpayer money to build the infrastructure. Its like being told you have a chance to win in a Pay 2 win system (2
It's a symbolic vote, it doesn't hold any legal significance.
p much a certainty that if there were any chance of it passing the house and getting signed into law, it'd be lacking senate votes to pass
To prevent large corporations with deep pockets from gaining a stranglehold on what content we as consumers have available to us online. >
Nobody gets assassinated anymore. I think we need more assassins kepps the political scum a little more aware of our desires.
how will that affect the current legislative session
> it evens the playing field so that even small businesses and startups can compete for market share without having large corporations >
How in the blue hell is not wanting to give government control of something wrong?
Ah yes, that enemy that creates jobs, lowers taxes, ends a requirement to buy something that may not even be usable.
Realistically, this was mostly a policy move for Dems to force Reps to admit Dems are pro & Reps are anti net neutrality before elections.
Pretty much 99% of GOP voted against the thingy. It was like 4 outliers
Yeah man, the political party that constantly advocates for less federal government regulation and oversight are totally trying to control..
same one where the Cubs won the world series thus ushering in the trump presidency
(2) what people do in their own time. And our beloved liberals, cousins to our friends in Canada and the UK who are making certain types...
> muscle them out by throwing money around to have their content more visible and accessible to consumers. Things like Netflix wouldn't >
(3) of speech illegal, certainly have no plans on ANY of our rights, like the 1st or 2nd amendment! I instinctively vote for whichever...
The changes weren't scheduled until next month
Mandatory, supervised LSD trips for all government employees?
We didn't win. Still has to pass in the house (unlikely) then trump has to sign (pretty much no chance in hell)
(4) party is least authoritarian at the time, and it did in truth used to be the GOP. The religious right was way too strong and did seek..
We got through the house of people who want to keep their seats, now only the clown car remains!
Did Fox news tell you this?
(5) to legislate morality. But they, like the Christian religion as a whole, have lost influence, and now the Dems are more authoritarian.
putting up an insincere front
> exist if cable companies had had the ability to prevent Netflix from using a customers full bandwidth or making it not work very well.
If that happens, they'll cling on to the one or two things they like and remain to be blind to literally everything else.
username checks out
Won the battle. Not the war.
Trump will veto it. Suck it losers.
That’s the reason you hope he signs it? You’re a real piece of twat.
A wise man once said "It's true, it's damn true"
Until they change the name of the bill or bury it in some omnibus, they've tried 20 times, they aren't about to stop now
That might have been an argument, but the truth would go something like this: "Comcast unzips, bends over, and shits all over everything."
Why wouldnt trump sign it? Afaik he doesnt seem to be passionate about either viewpoint.
No. There are whores on both sides, but only the Dems would ever be able to pass it, and has active supporters
Im more in favor for price and quality being determined by the market, not the government, so meh
The GOP is basically Star wars. Sounds decent enough, now look at most of the fans....
Net neutrality is an Obama administration policy is why. Even if he agreed with it, he wouldn't sign because it'd piss off the republicans
Lol they forgot to pay off 3 Republicans whores
You blame Americans to much. Democracy (or rule by the lowest common denominator as I like to call it) is just a bad idea anywhere
And because Obama.
we won nothing, don't fucking fall for these senators patting themselves on the back. They have way more pull than you or I but act like
they did their part.
It means everything as election fodder.
This shouldn't be a surprise
Trump has given multiple donations to Hillary Clinton, including to her initial presidential campaign and 100k towards Clinton foundations.
Considering how many politically active people are old af and thus don't really understand the internet, I'd say 80% is wonderful
They don't, but the staff tallies the support
He only ran on the republican ticket because he figured it was his best chance to win with the demographic he was courting.
He doesn't hate Democrats per se....he only Hates Obama and his legacy.
What are the benefits of removing net neutrality?
Indeed. The scariest thing are the 60% of his supporters that say they *couldn't imagine anything* he could do to lose their support.
They did when it was a consumer rights issue, but now it is a partisan issue because it’s been tied to “obama era policies.” Lobbyism sucks.
Enjoy more expensive internet, you penniless dumbasses.
Shame on republicans 4 voting against this! cnet.com/news/senate-votes-to-restore-net-neutrality-heres-how-every-senator-voted/
Which is why the U.S. is a republic.
So when does it go back on some ballot, hidden behind educational bills, and get snuck through again and again til it passes?
So what is the reality, then? Why screw net neutrality? Because getting rid of it seems to do nothing good for anyone except ISPs.
The problem is the government is run and filled with oaps mostly who do not understand how the internet works. Either educate them boot em
Didn't win shit. Has to pass the house and president has to sign it into law.
The government exists to do things you don't like for your own good. Because the public is too fucking stupid to figure it out themselves.
If you are GOP, with a GOP Representative, and you support Net Neutrality, PLEASE talk to him or her. You’ll get a better ear.
How do you even function being that cynical? Not everyone is as greedy and self serving as Trump.
Corporations profit while violating the first amendment at leisure.
The vote today was the smallest hurdle. The House and subsequent steps will be more uphill. Just keep this topic alive.
Well said. Regulated monopolies can be good. Low reg competition can be good. This creates unregulated monopolies == ++BAD
It’s not very good
Im proud of you, Americans.
Yay, now we're safe from all those evil cable corporations! Oh wait, we never had protection in the first place? Yay, waste government time!
Ahhh modern conservatism at its finest.
yeah, no sorry, all you have to do is look at anti gun champ Daid Hogg to see that Dems use misinformation and lies far more than the GOP
Fuck you A Shit Pie-
i need a pic of ajit photoshopped onto palpatine’s face saying “i am the senate”
Ah, the enlightened centrist.
i cant google search it cuz i just get pintrist
But then wouldnt people just stop using the?
Republicans in the House are way worse than those in the Senate. I’m not holding my breath.
What if gov wasn't on charge of water but corporations who only want max profits.
For most people in certain states, Comcast is the only ISP (or the only ISP worth a shit).
If you’ve made your way into politics as far as the house or senate, you’ve probably already whored yourself out to special interests and
This seems like a weird thing to be *this* angry about. Can you describe/quantify the changes you noticed pre- and post-NN?
corporate shills to the point that you should not be there. That is what’s wrong with our government. It’s that we allow bought and paid for
Won’t pass the house though, there’s a reason they passed it here.
I guess we need to hit rock bottom first before it starts poppin'.
Every Democrat. 3 Republicans. Republican house will ignore it. Vote for more Democrats.
too bad its now up to congress...who get paid the big bucks by the ISPs
representatives to act as if they’re working in our best interests. They are not, aside from a rare few who will probably get nowhere
Are you proposing we kill people over regulations we don't like? Because I got pretty upset about Obamacare...
See you all for this same shit next year
You want to hurt a bureaucrat for enacting regulations you don't like? Sounds pretty violent to me.
because they have to fight a titanic current. I have no real suggestions as to how to change that, because the way the system is at this
It didn't really change. The dems were still 100% for. 3 republicans defected. Considering popular support that's an embarrassment.
Wow - you really have no idea that some people actually have different viewpoints, do you? Just reduce human beings to generalizations, eh?
It is though. Net Neutrality is actually a great example of conservative ideals. It doesn't make sense to em.
point, those corporations and special interest groups own our government and wouldn’t let that change.
Since government is about policy that is both good politics and good government.
How's that working out for your health system?
Care to describe how your online experience has been affected by the passing and subsequent killing of NN ?
Actually just a cynic who tries to convince Red and Blue that the mechanics of the game make BOTH of their teams act like shitheads.
Can you describe how you were screwed by the ending of NN?
Some republicans think any regulations are bad unless they help the very rich
He was plum surprised
Absolutely agree, but both teams don’t act equally shitty imo. If this is the game, you lose by trying to play “fair and respectfully.”
Call me a pessimist... but this wont go anywhere. The President is very much unlikely to sign it even if it gets through the House.
The government being in charge of medicine worked great. Now, let them run the internet!
Which is indicative of structural problems with the broader systems, not "good vs evil" as so many would construct the narrative.
Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Susan Collins (Maine) and John Kennedy (Louisiana). Collins and Murkowski voted against Obamacare repeal too.
When you go to vote check to see if your senators are among the select few who don't deserve to be thrown out of office.
I don't mind being fucked as long as it's for the right reasons.
Make sure you Vote your GOP House Rep OUT this year!! Organize! Ask all your friends If they’re registered to vote & convince them to!
A democratic republic you inbred failure. WHy do you think we vote to put people into office? that's called a representative DEMOCRACY
It's dead in the house. So pointless.
Last year the House voted to allow ISPs to sell your data, only 15 Repubs voted against, every Dem voted against. I'm not that optimistic.
The GOP is the party most likely to be bought out by companies and it's been proven time and time again, they are traitors end of.
The fact all red repubs have betrayed the american people time and time again doesn't mean you're right you subhuman disgusting filth
I see you like having water and electricity in your home.
Iran also wasn't pursuing nuclear weapons under the deal.
god damn you're an ignorant little bitch. The repubs have been fighting this from the beginning, they love corps and the bribes they get
Jesus fuck, I see we're going straight for baseless ad hominem attacks today.
Unfreezing Iranian assets is not the same as giving Iran money, no matter how it's spent.
But imgur told me both parties are the same!
Not even freaking Israel or the US military says Iran has been working towards nuclear weapons while the deal was in effect. Nobody
Problem is that the tax cut bill is a hugely unpopular giveaway to billionaires and the rate of job creation is slightly below before Trump.
I'm fine with Obama being burned with him. They're both generally useless.
There needs to be a market for that to work. Size & Entrenchment of current ISPs means there is little or no way for competitors to launch.
Remotely credible said they were breaking the deal. Working on nukes pre-deal, yes. During, no. Now, if the deal gets fully cancelled, they
Will start again, and that will have been Trump's contribution. Pushing Iran towards having nukes, not away from it.
On previous Net Neutrality votes 100% of Democrats support NN, while 90% Republicans opposed NN. This is with 80% of the public for NN.
Why do you think that, as a conservative, Republicans are your representatives?
While I hate that Trump is withdrawing from it, he didn't sign it in the first place, that was Obama. Which is probably a big part of why
It was the first thing to pop up when I googled it.
Trump hates it. If Obama had made no progress on Iran and lots on NK, they would probably be switching places in the news right now.
Interesting thought. What do you think I should do about my being subhuman? I never noticed I was until you pointed it out...
NN has never been about censoring anything, it has been about preventing monopolies. Which is a good thing unless someone is insane levels
It'd be nice to see one. I've seen people who intelligently disagree with ways the FCC regulates traffic, technical ways it could be better
make sure to look up your representatives, mid election season is coming up and its times to vote out all the people who are against NN
Implemented, but no good reasons why we should have a system like the one we have now without NN.
Vote in Senate was mostly party lines. Even though 80% Americans super net neutral, gotta vote out some Republicans to do it right
That would be the opposite of the case. When the last vote came in congress, 0% of Democrats voted against NN, and <10% of republicans did.
You mean like having an affair with a porn star? Doesn't fucking matter if this was prior to anything really. It shows what kind ofpos he is
Trump has to actively sign congressional reviews, not just veto them
You probably should lose the right to vote if all you want out of politics is to hurt other people in your country.
Sure. My isp is now allowed to throttle my connection speed to sites, either to charge me/them more money or to stifle dissenting viewpoints
A guy got killed by a vape pen today. There, that would have been on FP if this wasn't, you got your fix.
It's getting vetoed.
THIS MADE MY DAY!!
A Republican congressman who didn’t have to vote can say they are pro Net Neutrality. Plausible deniability.
I never implied that I agree with GOP'S policies, or any party's. I just think it's dangerous to lump the good in with the bad like the 1/2
Things have been shaken up. Both parties are hated by their constituents now and formerly solid districts are up for grabs.
This is like bragging that your little league team beat another little league team, and the next game is against the NY Yankees.
They aren't, not by a long shot, but they're (unfortunately) the closest we've got.
original comment did. There are some good people under the conservative banner that don't deserve to be villainized. 2/3
I think as soon as we start making large sweeping statements that attack people, even if there's some terrible stuff going on caused by 3/4
IDK, but when it comes to Ajit Pai ... it is not racist enough.
No he/she means the unemployment rate which has decreased since 2009
some of those same people, is still a narrow minded attitude that isn't actually helping the problems be solved.
"Xanatos Gambit": Heads I win, tails you lose.
How is generalizing an entire group not the same thing that Trump does? It's dangerous to think that way at best, and directly damaging 1/2
Not even close.... Trump has to sign it, and he wont
Nerd? Are you 50?
Changes have not yet happened. That is why this repeal went through the way it did.
or indirectly rather, the fight against the evil that is the specific, not general, people who work very hard to execute the inhuman policy
I am not generalizing anyone. Save for three Republicans, all of them took a check to destroy bet neutrality. That is fact.
"The GOP"is the general and the specific cause of evil here. Own it.
Yeah but it's alarming how many diehards there are. Shit's like some kind of cult, ridiculous numbers of people who will ignore any and >
all evidence that the current POTUS is a flaming bag of shit, and insist that he's the best thing we've ever had. Disturbing.
Also all the republicans.
Sorry, I used the term "veto" as a generalization for rejection, not specifically saying that the house has the power to veto a bill.
I know that. I was asking him what he thought he had to gain by not having net neutrality.
Since when did trump care what republicans think?
I love that the only thing Ajit Pai is winning out of this is becoming a meme and getting trolled his whole life.
If they have to pass it by the first of next year the midterms will not have an effect and it will fail, because the 1/2
New reps have to be sworn in and the start of the new congress is jan3 I believe.
When we're so low, it's easy to over estimate us.
We won? Technically we only won the easiest part of this. The house will be much harder, and Trump is too fucked to sign it.
Is it bad that I can no longer see the word "senate" without assuming it's a prequel post
You seem to not understand the concept of Net Neutrality...
Those three aren't important then? Mine as well line them up too then, call the firing squad.
Again, how do you even get out of bed with that kind of horrendous cynical outlook?
No, they haven't. There is literally no evidence. You don't get to make things up about your "enemy" just because you don't like them.
Any time government wants to take the reins of something that worked well enough before they got involved, I question the real motives.
Might* as well. And yeah, I think you're missing my point completely.
I mean, Obamacare sounded really good, but honestly did anything get better after it passed?
What about David Hogg? Are you one of the nutjobs that thinks he's a crisis actor? And no, misinformation is the only way GOP can pass
Any of their bills. It's almost never in the interest of the people, even if they make it sound like it.
inb4 trap plays his trump card.
As much as I’m in favor of this, you all do realize the house isn’t even going to vote on this, much less pass if right.
It’s basically just a good talking point for dems come mid terms.
Evil implies malicious intent, I don’t think anyone is saying that. Just that one team is clearly not playing a fair game at all.
The GOP has been moving right since Barry Goldwater
Oh yeah, that tax cut that doesn't even match my insurance premium increase.
I don’t believe they ever stopped. No, you can’t convince me otherwise. It’s my own opinion, now kindly piss off.
Many are saying that. Seriously. In those terms. X party is good, Y party is evil. The ideologies of the [side] are Evil.
It's goddamn annoying.
Again, I don’t think anyone is trying to harm their constituents. Idk any liberal who thinks Republicans are evil, just that they tend to be
greedy, ignorant, and closed-minded. Blind partisanship is not a 50:50 thing, most libs can critique themselves, can’t say the same of R’s
Conservative "ideals" lol, beyond abortion and guns are for sale. Find me a conservative that believes in conservation. And no, it would be
Considered "big government" to have oversight like net neutrality, practically socialism /
I've had more than a few lefties who needed to tone it down hard. Extreme positions and tribalism are not unique to the righties.
For liberals who cannot handle criticism, look no further than the various forms of SJWs and extreme forms of greens and BLM-et-al.
They are important. But don't gloss over the evil that the other 99% are doing. The GOP are the bad guys, full stop.
I don’t see that as cynical. I see that as realistic. Do you really look at our government and see a bunch of altruists selflessly serving?
No, I just don't give a fuck.
It will get saved. 6mo from now it will be repelled as an add on to a govt funding bill. And sneak by when no1 is looking.
I don't know how America works. Who gets to veto it? President? Some other big shot?
Imagine if you owed 10 dollars to a murderer, but you knew the 10 dollars would buy a knife for the murderer yo kill someone. Would you
2/ would you still pay him
oh thank you America for not screwing it up
Lol. Well, you admit there's no evidence for your stance, yeah nothing to do here.
But...but the wall! And..... uh..... tax cuts!
Ryan isn't a wildcard. He didn't want to be speaker, going against the Hastert 'rule' just means even more criticism that he can't take.
oh yeah. sure. NO DIFFERENCE
This is why corporations just got a 10% tax cut, but no school saw a dime more
It may not, but they can push it through first thing next time.
me or them ?
the senators who wouldn't've passed this bill if there was a chance it would pass through the house and get a presidential signature
No, absolutely not.
So we're obligated to give money to nations that fund terrorism against our own country? That's some pretty fucked logic.
So they're not pursuing nukes but they're using the funneling the funds to terrorist organizations that want the death and destruction 1/
My point exactly, government came in a fucked with the pricing of my health system and now it sucks.
of the US. I don't see how we should still be honoring this deal.
And? My electricity and water come from state owned property and infrastructure, that is a completely different scenario.
Pretty sure it is. When it's frozen, Iran and the terrorist groups they support don't have any access to it.
The size and entrenchment of the isps occurred because regulation made it impossible for small ones to begin
I get that. I guess I'm a horrible person for wanting to keep money out of the hands of nations that support terrorism against America.
No, it was actually money that went back to an arms deals between the US and Iran from the 70's. I'm just generally opposed to 1/
The unfreezing of assets and giving money to a country that uses that money to support terrorism against America.
We also did give them $1.8 billion for an arms deal from the 70's. So yes, we literally gave them money.
when it aligns with undoing anything obama did
No I want to hurt an asshat for not listening to the people he was directed to serve.
Genocidal people don’t become rational people just because they signed a piece of paper to appease a douche with his wife’s dick up his butt
Iran has spent decades chanting death to Israel death to America fuck Iran and fuck trusting the bastards for anything.
You know there is quite a bit of middle between those two extremes right?
I think that they're just rational human beings stuck in the pattern they created for themselves from being politicians for decades.
And now it's gotten to the point where they're just working a job now instead of trying to better anything. So they don't try to understand
What would actually better the country and its people. No sane human will actually do something that they think is wrong.
As opposed to...?
Hence ending the requirement to buy a government approved plan, which is most likely sold by the government.
In both of your comments it seems like we are working with different definitions of the word 'giving'. I mean we never gave them money that
Didn't already belong to them. The way some people talk about it, you'd think we gave them a taxpayer funded gift. We 'gave' them money in
The same way you 'give' money to the checkout at the grocery store, it wasn't a donation.
Yup. And I’m sure a lot more of them are on my end of things than yours.
My electricity and water both come from privately owned property and infrastructure. They're just regulated by Government.
However, *even now*, price and quality is determined by the market. The problem is that for 20 years the market was "You have this or→
→nothing." WRT telecoms. Once many places got competition through Google Fiber, all of a sudden prices dropped and quality rose.
But part of that is the development of technology getting cheaper and more available, along with patents becoming public.
I think we are in agreement that the market should determine competition and price.....
I'm not rich, and if it would have applied to my 2017 taxes I would have gotten roughly $3k more back in taxes this year.
Sauce for unpopularity?
About a 0% chance it passes the house but a good fighting point for dems
It was pretty much along party lines except for two or three defectors.
Right then. They're all just varying degrees of cartoon supervillains; evil for the sake of being evil. Gotcha.
I’m not sure if you’re trolling or just not listening. I never said anyone was being some kind of Dr. Evil style bad guy. I said that to
many of our representatives have been bought by corporate interests for them to properly represent US. There’s a big fuckin difference there
Many of our Republican representatives have been bought by corporate interests*
Nah, just representatives. Stop drinking the kool aid. Just because a politician has a D after his/her name does not make them a good person
What men don't like getting made fun of for their sexuality? Shocking
Yep that's why every Democrat voted to save the internet and 94% of Republicans voted to ruin it.
Ok, once again, whoring for talking points for the midterm elections. Do you actually think more than a few of these people give a fuck
about your internet experience? They want to be elected. And re-elected until they die. Or retire with a sweet govt pension.
The Republicans care about the ISPs lining their pockets, that's for damn sure. But also again, your cynicism is pretty fucking disgusting.
You can say that about any issue. Why do Dems support pro choice? Hurr because all they want is to get reelected.
Why do Dems support higher taxes on businesses? Hurr all they want is to get reelected.
Why do Dems want to fund welfare? Hurr all they want is to get reelected.
Your belief in a bunch of people who have sold themselves to corporations is amusing. You’re one of those who walk into a voting booth and
just wack all the names with a D after them. I vote for people who are probably going to vote the way I want them to on issues. I don’t give
a fuck what letters after their name.
That’s not cynicism, that’s realism in today’s political situation.
I only ever vote for policies I agree with. I've just never once seen a Republican policy that I do agree with.
You do you, man.
it was great until the government started doing price fixing to protect the "research costs" of our medical tech.
it doesn't and it never has. obama's net neutrality was new as of 2015 and gave the FCC dubious authorities that republicans want removed.
i only say "obama's" because it was drafted by the FCC that he appointed.
For one, we're not giving them money. We just lifted some sanctions, for another, it stops them from getting nuclear missiles
Geniocracy, benevolent dictatorship, qualified democracy (pure democracy, but with litmus tests before you can vote)
→broadband/high speed internet, pocketed the difference, and lobbied to change the definition of "high speed/broadband" to include what →
→was already there, instead.
It *should* but *doesn't*. And even ignoring that, Net Neutrality isn't about *price*. It's to keep ISPs from strangling content providers→
→and other startups. If your ISP right now slowed your download speed for every Google service (to 1% or slower) and left Bing untouched, →
→would you swap to Bing? What about imgur and, idk, 9gag, or funnyjunk, or facebook. imgur? 1% speed. 9gag, FJ? 50%. FB? 100%.
→Net Neutrality *stops them from doing that*.
We sent them $1.8 bil from an arms deal from the 70s. Terrorism is a bigger worry than nuclear missiles. I don't think you understand 1/
how unbelievably difficult it is to make and use nuclear weapons effectively. The portrayal of suitcase nukes that we should fear is false.
If they did that, I wouldn’t use them as an ISP....
They took billions? They spent billions as well, but the lines went though public property. Without that, no broadband at all
When all of them do it (and if it's not stopped, that'll be the new "normal") you won't have a choice.
Cool, now we should implement something that protects Net Neutrality so it doesn't get voted on every 3 months.
Cynicism is weakness. It is the defense of somebody too afraid to try, because the world has let them down before. It's not wisdom.
Preaching like that is the defense of those who are full of shit and want to make themselves seem wise.
I guess theres gotta be some people that drink Trump's kool-aid.
How classy. Did you make that up yourself? Call yourself a 'realist' all you like, you're just making excuses for why you don't try.
Thanks, this is helpful
Ok I guess the intellectual consistency balances out the total lack of morals. We'll call it even.
So is that something that happened *before* NN went into effect? I know it's not happening now because the change hasn't taken place yet.
Sure, but I'm assuming you were alive before NN went into effect a couple years back. What improvements have you noticed?
Ok thanks. I was starting to think it was weird that I wasn't as worked up about this as a lot of other people.
Understood. But I think that mindset would lead to about half the people wanting to hurt most public employees pretty much full time is all.
Lol you think he wasn't completely useless? And you insinuate that I'm unintelligent? The irony is thick.
"allowed" The very fact that it's now something that they can legally do AND that change in the law was exactly what they fought for
You were the one who got personal first, slim. I’m just calling it like I see it. I am a realist and you know fuckall about me but my
opinion on the shit that goes on in DC. But go ahead with your asinine analysis if you want. I’ll at least get a laugh out of it.
Aren't really used in the tech sector, there was the threat against Microsoft in the 90s but since then it seems that trusts are the way
Almost all big tech firms (including IPs) operate
net neutrality is not a substitute for an internet bill of rights.
Your act of screw net neutrality makes me wonder if any one of the ISPs sent you..
They didn’t do any of that
Not really. I’m not a republican.
There was no before. The 2015 rules were the latest NN regulations not the first. The US has had some form of NN-like regulation since the
inception of the internet. At their weakest between 2005-2010 there were multiple abuses by ISPs some taking years to resolve
The democrats are largely responsible for the creation of modern NN and have defended them successfully from republicans a dozen times now
The 2015 rules were not the first. The US has had some form of NN-like regulation since the inception of the internet
1: The US gov is not in charge of medicine. 2: NN does not put the government in charge of the internet by any stretch of the imagination
NN is still in effect, so there has been no killing, and the US has had some form of NN-like regulation since the inception of the internet
The US has always had some form of NN-like regulation. The internet has literally never been unregulated
It can't, that is one of the main reasons that most federal regulation is handled by regulatory agencies and not congress directly
So you didn't bother to do any research at all into NN regulation in terms of what it does and how?
This has little to do with trump, this has to do with a group of people that want to see the US dead. You can’t trust irrational people ...
And rational people don’t spend years chanting for the death of a nation just to stop because of a piece of paper.
Did you agree to the Iran deal? Did the ayatollah call you and ask you if you agreed to the terms? Cause I didn’t agree to it...
traitors to my country did. They sold us out to people who want to kill us, and then gave them 5 billion of our tax dollars
So they could build better bombs with it
The concept of net neutrality is not bad. What's bad is thinking the same people who gave us sopa/pipa are somehow on our side now.
The government is not homogeneous.
The 5 billion they got back was their own money which was being withheld. If the deal was bad, don’t sign it. Or else you’re in breach.
Sounds like you’re drinking the kool aid of the administration and media.
That's cool and all, but compare congressmen who support net neutrality and those who supported sopa/pipa/acta/etc
It was bad and I didn’t sign it.
Why would all of them do it? Why would they all conspire to do something like that?
They won't need to conspire. Maybe Comcast is friends with Microsoft, and so slows everything but Bing, but Time Warner hates Bing, →
